Formed in Paris in 2015, Le Consort is an early music ensemble dedicated to the quintessential chamber music genre that reigned supreme in the Baroque era: the trio sonata. Made up of two violins, a cello and a harpsichord, the ensemble’s diverse repertoire includes trio sonatas from Italy, France, Germany and England, which represent the essence of Baroque chamber music., Le Consort’s Music in the Park Series program highlights the works of well-known composers who helped define the genre, such as J.S Bach, Georg Phillipe Telemann and Francesco Geminiani, as well as those whose works remain unknown and often unpublished, such as Giorgio Gentili, Nicola Porpora, and Michel-Pignolet de Montéclair.

Le Consort has been awarded first prize at several European early music competitions, and brought its trademark virtuosity and colorful interpretations to major venues and festivals across Europe. The ensemble has been featured recently on the France 3 television network, as well as France Musique and Radio Classique radio networks, and their dynamic performances have established them as one of the major players of the European baroque scene.
