About the Artist
We are delighted to welcome the astounding young pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason back to the International Artist Series in March of 2022. Ms Kanneh-Mason’s Schubert Club debut in 2019 with her brother, cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason, remains one of the most popular and well-received of recent recitals. This solo piano recital from one of the fast-rising stars in classical music is not to be missed.
At just 25 years old, Kanneh-Mason soared to the top of the classical charts with her debut album, Romance, which drew popular and critical acclaim, entering the UK classical charts at No. 1 when it was released in July 2019. Gramophone magazine extolled the recording as “one of the most charming and engaging debuts” and Classic FM to praise Kanneh-Mason as “a player of considerable talent.” While continuing her postgraduate studies at London’s Royal Academy of Music, Isata Kanneh-Mason has embarked on a successful and increasingly busy concert career as a solo artist, with concerto appearances, solo recitals and chamber concerts throughout the UK and abroad. She was also recently named as the recipient of the 2021 Leonard Bernstein Award from the Schleswig-Holstein Festival.
