About the Artist
Founded in 2002, the Pavel Haas Quartet quickly established themselves as one of Europe’s leading string quartets. In addition to performing at the most renowned concert venues around the globe, the Quartet has recorded eight critically acclaimed albums, which have received numerous prestigious awards. In 2007, the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO) named the Pavel Haas Quartet one of its Rising Stars, after which they were afforded the opportunity to give numerous high-profile concert appearances all over the world. The Quartet has also held the title of BBC New Generation Artist, and was granted a classical music fellowship from the Borletti–Buitoni Trust in 2010. The Quartet is active in Prague and has a special focus on Czech and Slovak music, continuing the burnished sound of the bohemian tradition with an exciting contemporary energy.
