Wednesday, January 22, 7:30PM

Ordway Concert Hall

The revered flutist Emmanual Pahud makes a rare Twin Cities appearance in this recital. The Swiss-born Pahud is one of today’s most exciting and adventurous musicians, known for his wide repertoire, which includes an interest in jazz. The Guardian newspaper raved that Pahud’s emergence “signaled the arrival of a new master flutist!” Pahud gained international attention when he was appointed Principal Flutist of the Berlin Philharmonic at age 22, its youngest player at the time. This followed appointments at the Basel Radio Symphony and Munich Philharmonic while Pahud was still enrolled at the Paris Conservatory. In addition to his engagements with the Berliner Philharmonic, Emmanuel enjoys an extensive international career as soloist and chamber musician who has recorded a total of 24 discs for EMI Classics. He has been awarded the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres, an HonRAM from the Royal Academy of Music in London and serves as a UNICEF Ambassador.
