The 2015-2016 Schubert Club Mix season concludes with singer-songwriter, Gabriel Kahane & pianist, Timo Andres performing on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Bedlam Lowertown. This concert features two friends throwing caution to the wind in a free associative program that brings together four centuries worth of music. Their program ranges from J.S. Bach to world premieres of their own music. At the center of the program is a call and response between the two composer-performers, juxtaposing solo piano music with songs for piano and voice by various composers including Schubert, Schumann, Thomas Adès, Jerome Kern and Andrew Norman. Framing this live “mix tape” are folk song settings by Benjamin Britten and Ives songs.
