About the Artists
“Modern”, “dramatic”, “superb”, “wickedly attentive” are some ways critics describe the St Lawrence String Quartet. Their music making, at once intellectually exciting and emotionally alive, is known and loved by the Music in the Park Series audience from many previous visits. The Quartet’s program features a quartet by Franz Joseph Haydn and Debussy’s String Quartet in G minor. According to The New Yorker, “…no other North American quartet plays the music of Haydn with more intelligence, expressivity, and force.”
