Gene Gutchë Performance Incentive Fund

The Gene Gutchë Performance Incentive Fund, implemented by Schubert Club and supported by the Gene Gutchë Estate, is designed to support and encourage public performances and recordings of the music of Gene Gutchë (1907-2000).

The Fund can award up to $2,500 annually to individuals and organizations through this program, with grants generally ranging from $500 – $1,000. In addition, grant recipients will have the option to borrow scores and parts for Gene Gutchë music, including orchestral works, from Schubert Club and/or the Fleisher Collection of Orchestral Music (Philadelphia, PA) at no rental charge.

Eligibility: Proposals may be submitted by performing ensembles, presenting institutions, or by individual performers. Performing ensembles and presenting institutions must have a performance history of at least one year prior to the time of application. Student ensembles are eligible and encouraged to apply.

Criteria for Consideration: Eagerness to perform and/or record one or more works of Gene Gutchë,  artistic quality and performance history of the performing artist(s) or ensemble, feasibility of the project, including timetable, financial ability to carry the project to completion, and commitment from performers and venues, breadth of the potential audience

Deadlines and Notification: Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and evaluated twice annually. Applications must be received by May 15 to be notified in July, and before November 15 to be notified in January.

Grantee Requirements: Grantees must acknowledge the Fund in all programs and publicity material regarding the supported work. Specific wording will be provided to grant recipients. Grantees will be required to submit a brief Final Report at the conclusion of the project. A blank report form will be provided. Payment Funds will be disbursed in two checks. Two-thirds paid upon receiving the grant, and one-third paid on receipt of grantee’s Final Report.
