Updated September 2021:

All performances with the Danish String Quartet as part of the Beethoven Series have been rescheduled to the period November 5-11, 2021. If you are a ticket holder to any of the original May 2020 performances, your tickets will be automatically transferred into the new dates and sent in the mail the week of October 18, 2021. Thank you for your patience and flexibility as things continue to shift during this unusual time.

In November of 2021, the Danish String Quartet will perform the full cycle of Beethoven string quartets over a series of six concerts as we celebrate Ludwig van Beethoven’s 250th birthday, which was in December 2020. These concerts were originally scheduled for May of 2020, but were postponed due to the pandemic. This opportunity to witness the full Beethoven String Quartet cycle played by one of the world’s leading string quartets is truly an experience not to be missed. Those who purchase the full six concert package will receive free passes to a pre-series “Introduction to Beethoven and his string quartets” with musicologist and University of Minnesota lecturer Daniel Freeman, and will be invited to a post-series reception with the quartet members following the 6th and final performance.

“Composer anniversaries appear in various lists with overwhelming regularity, but Beethoven’s 250th birthday in 2020 is an anniversary not to be overlooked. I couldn’t imagine a more thrilling ensemble to explore Beethoven’s complete quartet cycle than the Danish String Quartet. I hope others will join me in treating this as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to dig deep into an important part of Beethoven’s musical legacy.”  – Barry Kempton, Artistic and Executive Director

November 2021 Concert Schedule

No action is required for ticket holders for the original May concerts Your original tickets will be automatically transferred to their rescheduled date and your new tickets will be mailed the week of October 18th.
