Diane Gorder

dianeGrowing up in Montana, one of Diane’s fondest childhood memories includes unwinding after school while listening to a collection of Reader’s Digest classical records on the family stereo.  Diane also found great joy in practicing the piano – and equally great dread of participating in recitals.

That is why Diane, who has been attending Schubert Club events with family and friends for many years and serving on the board for four years, is very thankful that she did not have to audition with a vocal or piano solo to participate in this stellar arts organization (a requirement for members when The Schubert Club was founded more than 125 years ago).  Prior to serving as Board Chair, Diane served on the 125th Anniversary Celebration Committee.  She currently serves on the Audit and Compliance, Finance and Investment, Marketing and Development, and Museum Committees.

Originally from Billings, Montana, Diane holds a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition from the University of Montana and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Minnesota.  Diane moved to the Twin Cities in 1972 to do a dietetic internship at University Hospitals which led to a decade of research at the U of M’s School of Public Health studying cardiovascular disease prevention.

Diane has also made time for other volunteering pursuits, including the American Heart Association, YMCA, and House of Hope Presbyterian Church.  She is currently serving as secretary of the St. Paul Unit of the National Association of Parliamentarians.  Diane and her husband, Mark, reside in the Twin Cities and have two grown daughters.
